Lorandi gets full-time Jenzer deal in GP3
17 March 2017 – Alessio Lorandi will contest a full GP3 season with Jenzer Motorsport in 2017.
Italian racer Lorandi, 18, made his series debut with the team towards the end of the 2016 season, contesting the final two rounds in Malaysia and Abu Dhabi, recording a best finish of ninth.
He continued to represent the team during post-season testing at the Yas Marina Circuit and has now landed a full-time seat for 2017, joining the already-confirmed Arjun Maini.
"Lining up for the 2017 GP3 Series is a huge step for my career and making it with Jenzer is definitely the best choice," said Lorandi.
"In the last two rounds of the 2016 season it was a perfect fit and there is great chemistry with both Andreas Jenzer and his technical staff.
"In post-season testing we showed that we can compete with the best names of the series.
"This will be a challenging season, in a very competitive environment, as we will run alongside the Formula 1 and Formula 2 championships."
Lorandi is a race winner in European Formula 3.
