Laaksonen to move to GP3 with Campos
8 January 2018 – Simo Laaksonen will compete in the GP3 Series in 2018, sticking with Campos.
Finnish racer Laaksonen, 19, placed sixth in the Euroformula Open standings last year, with two podium finishes, and third in the Spanish Formula 3 variant.
Laaksonen tested for Campos at the post-Abu Dhabi gathering in December, during which he performed "extremely well", according to the team.
"I am very happy that our cooperation continues in GP3 this season," said Laaksonen.
"Already last season in Euroformula series showed that Campos Racing is a highly motivated team full of professionals.
"Our last GP3 test in Abu Dhabi also showed that they have top speed in GP3.
"I know that GP3 is really tough, especially for rookie drivers, but with a familiar team and a good preparation time, I'm confident."
Campos Sporting Director Adri Campos Jr. added: "We are extremely happy to keep working with Simo.
"This season will be a very challenging one, but seeing his progress last year in his rookie season in Euroformula we are all very confident.
"We will do our best to help him achieve his goals."
